Mowden Hall Residential Camp 2023 An excellent week was had by all at Mowden Hall School last week on our residential camp. All of the players had a blast not only playing, talking , breathing and sleeping cricket, they also enjoyed making new friends whilst enjoying a variety of activities ,including swimming, tennis, football and the nerf arena. It's been a busy few weeks for our coaching team. Last week our U13's Academy "Northern Reivers" team travelled to Thornaby Cricket Club playing Cleveland CC U14's. Despite the year difference our Academy managed to bat out 35 overs and scored 125. Which was a good effort considering our 3 youngest players on the day were aged 11. The weather was beautifully sunny all day and our coaches thought the heat from midday onwards would effect their fielding. In this case the coaching staff couldn't be any further from the truth. Tuesday saw the beginning of our half-term camp at Benwell Hill Cricket Club. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side, although this did not stop our talented players from wanting to continue to play throughout the weather. Our coaches, Olivia, Freya and Adam not phased by the weather allowing us to adapt and overcome some of the adverse weather. Important announcement our Junior sessions on Tuesday's 530pm til 7pm Kenton School which started on November 3rd are set to resume on December 8th, 15th, 22nd. We are hoping to complete the remaining sessions in January 2021. Liam Trevaskis joined us for our first session at Kenton school last night. We had a small talented group of youngsters at the session most of whom we've seen previously. The group were very enthusiastic, focused and keen to learn. Liam was very impressed with their skills and concentration levels throughout the session. We started our summer camp at Benwell Hill Cricket Club today, whilst adhering to covid 19 guidelines and social distancing. Well done to all players who were engaged, focused and keen to learn whilst having fun in their bubbles.
